Scientific Literacy
Students need to be able to read and understand science to be scietifically literate citizens. Because science and in particular the field of medicine changing so quickly, we all need the skills to be our own advocates and be able to make decisions about our own health and medical care, but also to be educated voters. Because reading a journal article or even a science textbook requires some skills and vocabulary that reading a novel or other periodical does not, scientific literacy is a skill that we all could use.

Learning Styles Inventory
This is a quick assessment of students with a list of things THEY can do to improve their own learning processes. Knowing your students learning style is helpful for a lot of reasons, I (Mr. Cubbage) use it to put students in partnerships for lab activities. Because they "think differently" together they are "smarter".
